The IVMHO-Gambia, powered by the British High Commission Banjul, provides Community Mental Health Awareness activities in the village of Kanuma Foni. Mental health stigma and discrimination have been a major problem in our communities. Often, people avoid talking about it and even delay seeking treatment due to concerns about being treated differently or fears of losing their jobs, friends, Family and livelihoods. That's because stigma prejudice and discrimination against people with mental illness are still very much a problem in our society.
